This is the first book in which astrologers make the connections in this way between the rising and falling stars that correspond to a person's date and place of birth, the often age-old myths and stories and the themes that play a role in his or her life.

Every person has a rising and falling star. These are always fixed stars, so called because unlike wandering stars or planets they form fixed patterns in the sky. We know these patterns as the constellations, think for example of Orion, Andromeda and Aquarius.

In ancient times, people already knew what awaited them when they saw a certain star on their horizon. For example, the Egyptians could count on the Nile flooding when the bright star Sirius from Canis Major was on the horizon just before sunrise. In this way, our ancestors connected the position of the constellations with what was happening on earth. They incorporated this knowledge into their myths and other stories that were passed down from generation to generation.

Australian astrologer Bernadette Brady rediscovered this connection between heaven and earth and thus laid the foundation for this way of working with the fixed stars. Astrologers Ria Borst, Ineke Bergman, Vera Verhagen and Paula van Kersbergen have done research into the fixed stars for the Netherlands and Flanders. In a special way they pick up the storyline in the past and translate it to the present. It is striking to see how the correctness of it is, as it were, proven with short biographies of famous and unknown people.
